Now is your chance to give your Christmas tree a second life. This weekend, at locations throughout the borough, the Parks Department is offering residents the chance to recycle their Christmas trees by grounding them down into wood chips. That way, instead of winding up in a land fill, the trees can provide the sustenance for a new generation of flora and fauna to take root in Brooklyn.
Mulchfest: 2008 runs from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on January 5th and 6th. For more information about how you should properly dispose of your Christmas tree, check out Mulchfest's website.
